The traditional Open Canoe skills are an art in themselves, whether you’re looking to find a few new techniques to make that up and coming expedition easier, build a bit of confidence around these skills before an assessment or you just want to increase the skill set and knowledge around trad, this course could be for you. Weather permitting you’ll likely spend one on open water covering things like up wind traveling techniques and solo/group sailing, and one day on moving water looking at skills like poling, punting, tracking and lining as well as things like decision making in the environment and portaging skills.
