HPP (Holme Pierepont) is one of the best training grounds for freestyle and river play skills with its predictable features like ‘inlet’ for hole moves including loops, cartwheels and spins and ‘troll’ or ‘fairy’ wave for wave moves including flat spins, blunts and carving cutbacks. Don’t forget the eddy line potential all over the course to hone things like tailies and eddy line cartwheels.
For this weekend were teaming up with Jon Best from Rapid Horizons, Jon’s freestyle background and river style are unmatched, oozing with style and making everything look easy! He’s also a top coach, top bloke and not bad at karaoke.
 
Who’s it for?
 
This two course is aimed at the intermediate paddler that’s comfortable on Grade 2-3, has a consistent roll on moving water and wants to explore more of the river play and freestyle based moves like loops, cartwheels, tailies, blunts and many more.
If you can get onto these features (or similar, think friendly stoppers and waves) and want to open up the play possibilities then this is the course is for you!
 
All this and we’ll find a local café for tall tales of daring do over local cake! (Don’t worry, we’ll make the most of our time on the water as that’s the important bit!).
 
What will I need to bring?
 
All your own paddling kit and your boat and paddles.
